We are proud to support Lufthansa in its daily flight operations. Becker deployed the Lufthansa radio communication network in collaboration with IBM Aviation Industry Services.
Our product line dedicated to air traffic management and airline operations features communication systems and innovative ADS-D surveillance solutions designed with state of the art technology.
Whether integrated in custom designed ATM systems or operated in a stand alone fashion, our products deliver performance and reliability without comprise, for safe air operations round the clock. It is in the context that Becker was selected to replace Lufthansa’s aging ground radio network.
Our IP-based ground-to-air radio solution replaces the airline’s legacy radios with modern state-of-the-art digital radios in compliance with the European 8.33 kHz channel spacing mandate. The system was designed and adapted to the airline’s specific need. It is based on our proven TG560 VHF base stations along with our new RS560 single-channel VHF receivers. The solution provides improved system functionality and flexibility for the operator. Additionally, it offers enhanced reliability and reduced integration work and wiring. And the user benefits from the latest available digital intercom technology.
The Becker Radio-over-IP solution was chosen by Lufthansa due to its unique ability to effectively manage and control multiple radios in the network, dispatched on multiple sites over the country.
The airline uses this round-the-clock available radio capability to communicate with pilots for planning, logistics, technical and operational coordination, and emergency situations.
Along with its software configurable radios, our modern ATM systems provide the flexibility to be specifically tailored to meet the demanding operational requirements of airlines and fleet operators.
